GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kelly Pepper was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for games through April 8. Pepper helped the Knights win two MIAA games over Alma and Albion.
"Kelly had a great week," said Calvin head coach Blake Boehm. "She's really stepped up this year and has taken the initiative to lead our offense. The fact that she's leading the conference in assists and is currently second in points is a testament to her unselfish play."
A junior from Wyckoff, New Jersey, Pepper is claiming the honor for the first time this season and third time in her career.
Last week, Pepper tallied 15 points on seven goals and eight assists.
Tuesday night at Alma, she had four goals on 10 shots. She also recorded one assist, caused one turnover and had three ground balls.
The Britons could not figure out Pepper on Saturday, Pepper finished the game with seven assists, five coming in a row and three goals. She also caused one turnover and had one ground ball.
Her seven assists were one short of her career record of eight.
Pepper and the Knights return to play on Wednesday against Olivet.
