ADRIAN, Mich. - Calvin split a conference doubleheader at Adrian on Wednesday, falling 10-2 in the opener before coming back to win game two 8-5.
The Knights (18-6 overall, 6-2 MIAA) are now tied with Saint Mary's for second place in the MIAA standings, one game behind league-leading Trine.

Calvin grabbed a 2-0 lead on a two-run RBI double by sophomore Grace Stock (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS). The Knights had a chance to add to their lead in the top of the second but left the bases full. Adrian (15-13 overall, 3-5 MIAA) then struck for six runs in the bottom of the second, using four hits and four walks to take a 6-2 lead. The Bulldogs added a run in the third and three in the fifth to complete the run-rule victory.
Stock had two of Calvin's seven hits.

Calvin broke loose for 11 hits including three from junior Hannah Horvath (Caledonia, Mich./Caledonia HS) to pull away for the win. Calvin scored seven runs in the first inning with junior Grace Quiggle (Saranac, Mich./Lowell HS) belting a three-run homer to cap off the early scoring surge. In the second, junior Abi Colon (Caledonia, Mich./South Christian HS) belted her sixth home run of the season to give the Knights an 8-2 advantage. Adrian chipped away at Calvin's lead, scoring single runs in the first, second and fourth along with two runs in the third. Sophomore Ellie Borst (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) bore down to throw shutout ball over the final three innings however to seal her eighth pitching victory of the season.
The first inning home run by Quiggle was her fourth long ball of the spring. Quiggle, Stock and Colon all had two hits apiece.
