 Entries
  • All entries must be submitted electronically to the Meet Manager via Direct Athletics entry program by 6:00 PM two days prior, February 23rd, to the meet.
  • Each team is allowed four (4) entrants/event regardless of official teams entered.

No Entry Fee

Meet Seeding

  • Seeding, except the 60 meters and 60 meter hurdles prelims, will be timed finals. Entry performances will be used as seeding marks and seeded, accordingly, by the slowest to fastest/worst to best sections and flights.
  • Seeding procedures will follow the current NCAA Rule Book.
  • Any indoor performances completed on a 300-meter track must be converted to a 200-meter track using the NCAA conversion standards.
  • All seed/entry times for races 60 – 800 meters, including 4x400 meter relay, must be FAT timing.

Heat and Flight Sheets

  • Should be send out to coaches and MIAA Track & Field coordinator by 8:00 PM two days prior to the meet.
  • Seeding and Flight corrections must be emailed to the timing company by noon one day prior to the meet.
  • Final heat and flight sheets must be emailed to the coaches and MIAA Track & Field coordinator by 3:00 PM one day prior to the meet.
  • For running events with prelims and finals, 8 competitors will advance to finals.
  • Field events will advance 9 competitors to finals.

Field Events – 3 + 3 format

  • Prelims
    • Athletes with the best performances will be in the final flight.
    • If more than 20 entrants, three flights will be used.
    • If flights cannot be divided evenly the final flight will be the largest.
    • The order within the preliminary flight will be randomized.
    • Finals
      • The top nine competitors from prelims will advance to the finals per NCAA rules.
      • The finals competition will be in reverse order of best performance in the preliminary rounds.
      • Triple Jump
        • There will be two (2) boards for each gender with a minimum of 24 feet.
        • Distances for the take-off boards may be adjusted, if needed, by the games subcommittee approval.
        • Starting Heights for High Jump and Pole Vault
          • The Games Committee shall determine the starting heights and progressions based on NCAA guidelines and MIAA performance lists.
          • The preliminary progressions must be emailed to the coaches by two days prior to the meet.
          • Shot Put
            • Two rings will be used, one for women and one for men.
            • The women’s and men’s shot put will be contested simultaneously.
            • Weight Throw
              • The weight throw will begin at the conclusion of the shot put.
              • One ring will be used with the at the conclusion of the Shot Put
 

Team Scoring

  • Scoring will be through eight (8) places.
  • Points for each place through 8 places; 1st (10), 2nd (8), 3rd (6), 4th (5), 5th (4), 6th (3),

7th (2), 8th (1).

Coaches’ Meetings Regarding Indoor Field Day

  • Coaches will hold two meetings in connection with the MIAA Indoor Field Day Championship.
    • The first meeting will be a conference call at 10:00 am one day prior to the start of the Indoor Field Day Championship.
    • The second meeting will be convened 60 minutes prior to the first event on the day of the competition. Preliminary heats and lane assignments will be verified.
    • This meeting will be held in Hoogenboom Rm 204 located in the lobby area overlooking Hoogenboom gym floor.

Meet Records

  • Official MIAA records may be established in either the preliminaries or the finals.
  • MIAA indoor records may only be set at the Field Day Championship meet.

Warm-up Area

  • Please reserve the back stretch of the indoor track for competitors warming up for an event that immediately follows the current event being contested.
  • Additional warm-up area will be available in the Hoogenboom Gymnasium.

Team Camp Area

  • All food will be stored and consumed in Hoogenboom room 280.
  • The room is a short 30 meter walk from the track.

Hospitality

  • We will have continental breakfast and lunch available on Saturday in the Racquetball court located next to Hoogenboom 280.
  • Hospitality will be reserved for head and assistant coaches, meet personnel, and officials.
