Calvin Men's Swimming and Diving Defeats the Hornets

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's Swimming & Diving team defeated Kalamazoo College 183-105 in a conference meet on Saturday afternoon at Venema Aquatic Center. 

The Knights had a handful of top performances in the meet.  

Winning the 200 Yard Medley relay was the team of Noah Holstege, Sam Holstege, Ben Holstege, and Jared Britton with a time of 1:33.55.

Julian Iturbe won the 1000 Yard Free recording a time of 10:03.20. 

In the 200 Yard Free, Skyler Fish hit the wall first with a time of 1:46.45. He also went on to win the 200 Yard Breast with a time of 2:14.19. 

Along with the 200 Yard Medley relay, Noah Holstege won the 100 Yard Back in 53.49.

Winning the 100 Yard Breast was Jacob Lensing recording a time of 59.96.

In the 200 Yard Fly, Brian Goins won in a 2:01.12. 

Ben Holstege claimed his second first place finish in the 50 Yard Free hitting the wall in 21.07. 

Winning the 100 Yard Free was Tristan Hazlett with a 49.69. 

In the 500 Yard Free, Matt Creeks won in 5:00.29. 

Closing out the meet winning the 400 Yard Free relay was the team of Ben Holsetge, Britton, Trevor Sparks, and Hazlett. 

Five seniors were honored today for all their hard work and dedication the past four years as a Knight: Jared Britton, Jacob Lensing, Skyler Fish, Nathan Olberding and Ben Holstege

The Knights return to action on next Saturday as they take on Hope College at 1 p.m.
