GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin College senior Michael Moentmann has been named to the Division III Google Cloud Academic All-District VI team in the men's at-large division.
The men's at-large division includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, wrestling and water polo.
A native of Solon, Ohio, Moentmann wrapped up a standout collegiate diving career this past March. A graduate of Solon High School, Moentmann was a three-time national qualifier.
At the NCAA III Championships in March, he garnered NCAA III Honorable Mention All-America honors with a 15th place finish on the one-meter board.
One month earlier on the final night of competition at the MIAA Championships, Moentmann captured the league title one the three-meter board with a score of 513.85 points that helped Calvin move on to win the MIAA team title by 6.5 points. Moentmann also finished second on the one-meter board at the conference meet and was subsequently named to the All-MIAA team for the first time in his career.
In the classroom Moentmann is a double major in biochemistry and public health while carrying a 3.93 grade point average.
He is set to graduate from Calvin this Saturday and plans to attend medical school next fall at Wayne State University.
