Men’s Swimming & Diving Opens NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Calvin men's swimming & diving team started the four-day 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Maroon and Gold sit in 20th place with 12 points.

The Knights made the consolation finals in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of junior Ben Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant), senior Tanner Vincent (Novi, Mich./Novi), junior Jared Britton (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) and junior Jacob Lensing (Pella, Iowa/Pella Christian) clocked in at 1:30.61 and finished in 11th place.

In the diving well, senior Michael Moentmann (Solon, Ohio/Solon) placed 20th on the 3-meter board at 407.40 points.

In the 500-yard freestyle, freshman Julian Iturbe (Caracas, Venezuela/Colegio Emil Friedman) finished in 34th place at 4:42.71.

Tanner Vincent recorded a time of 1:55.08 in the 200-yard individual medley in 44th place.

The Knights return to action in the pool on Thursday.
