Julian Iturbe Named MIAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
Calvin College freshman Julian Iturbe has been named the MIAA's Men's Swimmer of the Week.

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Iturbe had a standout evening at the MIAA Relays last Friday. A graduate of Colegio Emil Friedman High School, Iturbe was a part of five first place finishes in the competition on Friday. All five relays posted MIAA Relays record times.

Iturbe was the anchor leg on Calvin's winning 200 backstroke relay in an MIAA record time of 1:36.52.

He also was the anchor on Calvin's 500 progressive relay team that clocked in with an MIAA Relays record time of 4:11.75.

In the 1500 freestyle relay, he was the second of a three-leg relay that produced an MIAA Relays record time of 14:52.55.

He was again the anchor in Calvin's winning 4x100 individual medley relay that recorded an MIAA Relays record time of 3:39.49.

Iturbe was also a part of Calvin's 200 freestyle relay that came in with an MIAA Relays record time of 1:26.22. The time currently ranks 11th in Division III men's swimming this season.
