Ben Holstege Named MIAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
For the second time in his collegiate career, Calvin College junior Ben Holstege has been named the MIAA Men's Swimmer of the Week.
A native of Keswick, Virginia, Holstege had a standout evening in a dual meet with Grand Valley State Friday night at the Venema Aquatic Center.
Holstege was second Friday night in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.37 that currently ranks second nationally.
He also swam on Calvin's 200 medley relay team that placed second with a time of 1:35.79. That relay time ranks 13th nationally.

"Ben came out of the gates Friday night and swam really fast," said Calvin head swim coach Dan Gelderloos. "It was great to see him get off to such a quick start. He is primed for a big season and I am happy to see him receive this award."
Calvin returns to action on Friday when it hosts the MIAA Relays at the Venema Aquatic Center beginning at 6 p.m.
