Calvin Men's Swimming and Diving Sending Four to NCAA III Championships

Four members of the Calvin men's swimming and diving team are headed to the 2017 NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships scheduled to take place March 15-18 in Shenandoah, Texas.

Scheduled to compete for Calvin at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships are senior Brett Stoughton and Eli Holstege and sophomores Jared Britton and Ben Holstege.

Stoughton (Centerville, Ind./Centerville HS) is set to compete in the 200 and 400 medley relays as well as the 200 and 400 freestyle relays while also competing in the 100 and 200 butterfly.

Stoughton will be making is fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA III Championships. Calvin's 200 medley relay is seeded 14th (1:30.81), its 400 medley relay seeded 21st (3:21.27), its 200 freestyle relay seeded 17th (1:22.42) and its 400 freestyle relay seeded 20th (3:04.00).  Individually, Stoughton is seeded 28th in the 200 butterfly (1:52.48) and 26th in the 100 butterfly (49.49).

Eli Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant HS) will compete in all four of Calvin's relays. He is making his second consecutive appearance at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Young brother Ben Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant HS) will also compete in all four of Calvin's relays. He will also compete in the 100 backstroke where he is seeded 16th (49.66). He is also making his second consecutive trip to the national meet.

Britton (Falls Church, Va./George Mason HS) is also making his second straight trip to the national meet. He will compete in all four relays and also swim in the 100 butterfly where he is seeded 24th (49.41) and in the 100 freestyle where he is seeded 31st (45.43).

Calvin junior Michael Moentmann (Solon, Oh./Solon HS) also has a chance to qualify for the national meet as he will compete in in the NCAA III Diving Regional this weekend at Calvin's Venema Aquatic Center.
