GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A trio of Calvin Men's Soccer Players have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud DIII Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team. The three honorees for Calvin are seniors Trent Vegter and Jacob Witte and junior Ian Adams.
Vegter, Witte and Adams have all excelled both on the field as players and off the field as students.
A defender from Hudsonville, Mich., Vegter has an overall 3.46 GPA and will earn a major in Civil Engineering at the end of the academic year. Vegter was named this year's MIAA MVP for the second year in a row and also earned MIAA First-Team honors for the fourth year in a row.
A forward from Grand Rapids, Mich., Witte has an overall 3.86 GPA and will earn a major in Speech Pathology at the end of the academic year. Witte was named to the MIAA First-Team for his third consecutive year this fall.
A midfielder from Grand Rapids, Mich., Adams has an overall 3.96 GPA and is majoring in Computer Science / Mathematics. Adams was named to the MIAA Second-Team for the second time this fall after receiving the award in 2016 as well.
All three men are eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
The Knights will compete in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow at 3 p.m. as they take on the Panthers of Greenville.
