Ethan Brown Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Ethan Brown was named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week in men's lacrosse on Monday afternoon. Brown is the first Calvin men's lacrosse player to be named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week in the MIAA.

"Despite a tough loss, Ethan kept his composure and was an anchor for our defense," Said head coach Dave Hoger. "His stoic presence and no quit mentality gave our team the courage and resolve to remain focused and finish strong, regardless of the outcome. He showed us all how great of a leader he truly is."

A senior from Falmouth, Maine, Brown is claiming the honor for the first time in his career.

He caused three turnovers on Saturday night in Indiana.

Against Carthage, Brown picked up three ground balls.

He is the third player in program history to be named the player of the week in the MIAA. Chris Griffin and Tim Marco were named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in 2014.

Brown and the Knights return to action on Saturday at Ohio Northern.
