Calvin Men's Golf In Fourth Place Through Day One of Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - A group of newcomers sparked the Calvin men's golf team on the first day of the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament Friday afternoon.

Calvin posted a fourth place team score of 303 strokes in a field of 14 teams. Freshman Kasen Anderson (Stillwater, Mn./St. Croix Preparatory School) led the Knights with a score of 73 that was good for eighth place individually on day one. Freshman Andrew Lack (Northville, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central HS) was close behind with a 75. Senior Sam Kuiper (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) followed with a 77.

Senior Alec DeJonge (Niles, Mich./Brandywine HS) had a 78 and sophomore Sam Holland (Novi, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central HS) a 79.

Competing individually outside of the lineup, sophomore Josh Lansky (Park City, Ut./Park City HS) had a 77 and senior Mitchell Knoor (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) an 81.

Hope College is in first place through day one with a team score of 287 followed by Allegheny at 298 and Trine at 299.

Action continues on Saturday with tee times set for 9:00 a.m.
