Calvin Men's Golf Takes Second at MIAA Spring Qualifier Round No. 2

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin men's golf team recorded a second-place finish in the second of three MIAA Automatic Qualifiers on Friday at Watermark Country Club.

The Knights shot 302 as a team and sit nine strokes behind Hope overall. Hope has posted a team score of 578 through two days, while Calvin has shot 587.

Senior John Van Noord (Troy, Mich./Oakland Christian) finished tied for first in round two, carding a 72.

Seniors Ben Van Scoyk (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and Matthew Lumbantoruan (Jakarta, Indonesia/Morning Star Academy) both shot 76 to finish the round tied for seventh.

Junior Sam Kuiper (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) posted a 78, while freshman Sam Holland (Novi, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) carded an 82. 

The Knights are back in action on Saturday in the third and final day of the MIAA Automatic Qualifiers. Tee time is set for 10 a.m. at Watermark Country Club.
