John Van Noord Finishes at NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – John Van Noord finished competition at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday afternoon at Mission Inn Resort and Club. Van Noord was the first Calvin golfer to compete as an individual at the NCAA Championship.

"I am very proud of John," said Calvin head coach Brian Bolt. "What he has accomplished this year is something to be very proud of. He will forever have the honor to be the first Calvin golfer to compete as an individual at the NCAA Championship. I am really excited for what the future holds for next year."

A junior from Troy, Michigan, finished tied for 121st place at 16-over-par.

On Wednesday, Van Noord shot a round of 80, for the second straight day to finish at 160 strokes.

The highlight of the day came at the 17th hole, where Van Noord finished with a birdie on the par-five hole.

Huntingdon leads after the second day at 584 strokes, four ahead of Wittenberg. Addison Lambeth is the leader in the clubhouse at 141 strokes.
