Calvin Hockey Team Prepares for Big Weekend Against Aquinas - To Honor Senior Class Saturday Night

The Calvin ACHA ice hockey team will close out its regular season campaign with a crucial set of games against local rival Aquinas College this weekend.

Calvin leads the Saints by three points in the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference West Division. The Knights are 11-1-0 in league play while the Saints are 9-2-1.

Aquinas will host Calvin Friday night at the Southside Ice Arena in Byron Center at 8:30 p.m. Calvin will then turn around and host the Saints Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Eagles Ice Center.

A year ago, the two rivals split the regular season series. They met up again in the ACHA Division III National Semifinals with Aquinas claiming a 6-1 win.

Calvin will carry an overall record of 23-1-1 into the weekend while Aquinas is 20-4-1.
Calvin is ranked No. 1 in the latest ACHA Division III North Region rankings while Aquinas is ranked No. 3.

At Saturday's game at Eagles Ice Center, Calvin will be honoring its seniors. Those seniors include: Cameron Bell, Ryan Betts, Jordan Duncan, Austin Kath, Frank Moreschi, Ryan Racanelli and Justin Rohlicek.
